North Texas Angel Network (NTAN) Names Jeff Murphy Executive Director and Transitions to Dealum Platform

The North Texas Angel Network (NTAN), an accredited angel investor membership organization, has named Jeff Murphy as Executive Director. NTAN made the announcement as part of Dallas Startup Week, which provided perfect timing.

“Jeff will provide NTAN the critical leadership to increase exposure in the market and find accredited investors,” says Chris Wilkes, NTAN board co-chair and a member of The DEC Network board. “He will continue to make NTAN the place to be for funding if you are a quality startup. In fact, he led the first SPV.”

Jeff Murphy, Executive Director, NTAN

Murphy brings robust experience as both an angel investor and startup executive

An active NTAN member and angel investor since 2016, Murphy has served as a board member since 2020. Murphy brings more than 25 years of experience as a sales leader with Ericsson and Owens Corning as well as more recently with entrepreneurial companies Mindbody, Sensative AB, and Haxiot. He also serves as investor and mentor for Tech Wildcatters.

“I’m a consummate networker with a strong desire to pay it forward and have done so over my years with NTAN already,” notes Murphy.

NTAN also is proud to introduce a new member and entrepreneur portal via Dealum, the leading platform for angel organizations to collaborate on potential startup investments. For NTAN, the transition is even more powerful as it enables seamless collaboration with other Texas-based angels including CTAN in Austin and HAN in Houston.

The value of collaboration among angel investors and startups

Comprising individual, accredited investors, NTAN identifies and screens applicants, who are entrepreneur-led companies seeking startup seed or growth capital. Interested NTAN members

collaborate to conduct due diligence and individually provide capital to selected opportunities. NTAN acts solely as a facilitator and does not provide investment advice.

Over its 14-year history, NTAN members have invested more than $10 million into startup organizations, primarily in North Texas. Notable investments, totaling more than $1 million each from NTAN members, include Ikonopedia, Natural Dental Implants, Tella Firma, and Vital Arts & Science.

In 2021, NTAN formed a strategic and operational partnership with The DEC Network, North Texas’ innovation hub for entrepreneurs, to spur innovation, deal flow, and company launches – and exits – in North Texas.
